How to Draw a Hippopotamus Head - Step-by-Step Tutorial
Step 1: Begin with the left ear by drawing a sideways "U", with a slanted line going up from the upper end. There should be 3 short lines coming down from the upper end.
Step 2: To add the right ear, draw a line across from the left ear, to meet an upside-down L-shape with a triangle on top.
Step 3: Add the eyes. The left eye looks a bit like an avocado half with the pit inside. A straight line goes outside the eye on the left, a curved line outside on the right. The right eye is a sideways "L" coming down from the right ear.
Step 4: From the right eye, draw a short, slanted line down. Beneath that, draw a longer line that curves down. Add a dark triangle at the curve, and a dark oval to the left, with a straight line in the middle. This forms the nose.
Step 5: To draw the mouth, bring aline to the left of that forming the nose, then pull it in and up toward the left eye. Connect 2 more curved lines to it.
Step 6: Complete the head by adding the jaw, connecting a wide "U" shape to the mouth. The neck is added by connecting 3 short, curved lines to the jaw.
Step 7: Your hippopatomus is now finished!
