How to Draw a Cartoon Grasshopper - Step-by-Step Tutorial
Step 1: Begin by drawing a circle in the middle of the page. Add two small curved lines at the base, creating the smile.
Step 2: Above the smile in the center of the circle, add a large circle for the eye and a small dot in the center for the pupil.
Step 3: Now, off the top of the head, add two curved lines in the upward direction to give the grasshopper his antennas.
Step 4: Now, from the base of the head, add two sets of parallel lines. Each set of lines should be close together and converge downward together at the base. Make sure there is a space between each set. Off to the right of the right leg, draw another set of horizontal parallel lines that transition into the vertical direction and once again converge to meet at the end.
Step 5: Off to the right of the head, add a semi-circle for the body of the grasshopper.
Step 6: Now, at the top of the right leg, add a narrow tube structure. It should be in the upward direction and pointed diagonally. Now, draw two diagonal parallel lines down from the end of the tube, converging them at the end with the creation of the foot.
Step 7: From the center of the semi-circle, add a horizontal tube shape for the body.
Step 8: Off the top of this tube, to the left of the first back leg, add another tube structure to represent the other back leg.
Step 9: Underneath the body, add a horizontal line and fill the center with a bunch of vertical lines for the abdomen.
