Step 1: Eels are fish, but they look a lot like snakes. Begin your eel by drawing an ellipse with one rounded side and one pointed side.
Step 2: For the eye, draw two circles, a large open circle and a smaller shaded circle that fills the majority of the larger circle. Draw the mouth as a curved line running from the pointed end of the ellipse, which is the front of the head.
Step 3: Draw the body as a thick, wavy freeform shape with a rounded end for the tail. Make sure you connect it to the head.
Step 4: Add a small "D"-shaped fin to the eel's side, close to the front.
Step 5: The eel's ray fins run the length of its body on the top and bottom. Draw them as wavy lines that follow the contours of the eel's body.
